Monsoon 2025 Update: The southwest monsoon continues to gain momentum across the country. As of today, June 27, 2025, many regions are witnessing widespread rainfall, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing multiple weather alerts.
North India: Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar
Delhi and NCR areas remain under overcast skies with light drizzles in some parts. The monsoon has not yet officially reached the region, but cloud cover and humidity are keeping the temperatures in check. In eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, heat and discomfort persist, although some relief is expected from scattered rainfall later in the day.
West India: Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan
Gujarat has recorded moderate to extremely heavy rain in several districts. Ahmedabad received 4 mm rainfall today, and IMD forecasts more heavy showers across the state. Mumbai has not seen intense rainfall yet, with only light to moderate rain expected through the day. In Rajasthan, areas like Sajjangarh and Banswara received over 130 mm of rainfall.
East & Central India: Odisha, Bengal, MP, Chhattisgarh
Odisha witnessed intense rainfall in the past 24 hours, with over 100 mm recorded in cities like Bhubaneswar and Konark. IMD has issued heavy rain alerts for southern Bengal districts including South 24 Parganas and Midnapore. In central India, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are seeing active monsoon conditions with thunderstorms and gusty winds.
South India: Kerala, Andhra Pradesh
Kerala is under active monsoon with incidents of flooding and landslides reported in Wayanad and Idukki. Coastal Andhra Pradesh is also experiencing thunderstorms, lightning, and winds up to 60 km/h, with more rain expected throughout the day.
